In the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP), the human rights due diligence obligations of companies for global supply and value chains are set down in a fixed framework. Additionally, the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichengesetz – LkSG) adopted in summer 2021 makes it mandatory for the first time for large German companies to exercise due regard for human rights in global supply chains.
The Federal Government would like to help companies implement human rights due diligence. In this context, it has collected various forms of implementation support, which provide companies with the necessary know-how and offer assistance with concrete challenges. This overview is updated regularly and does not claim to be exhaustive. Here you will find all known sources of guidance that are available in English.
This guidance is intended both to help with implementation of the NAP and to help companies get ready for when the Supply Chain Act enters into force in 2023.
